East Albury "took one for the Gipper" so Wodonga could have their Baranduda link and cheap second river crossing. The Border Mail (right wing local paper) abandoned Albury years before. It used selective reporting and demonized Save Our City members to sway public opinion and the government away from a previous democratic external decision.
